U-Pol Weld #2 - Weld Through Primers are special types of products that have high adhesion and superior conductivity to help protect welding applications like SPOT, MIG, and TIG from corrosion. The two types of primers available have a high amount of zinc or copper respectively and are both fast-drying formulas that can speed up the welding process. These primers have high adhesion to metals for better protection from corrosion.

The WELD #2 COPPER has:

  • Large amounts of pure copper
  • Provides a long-lasting, semi-flexible metallic finish that adds to the corrosion protection

The WELD #2 ZINC has:

  • Large amounts of pure zinc
  • Provides a long-lasting, semi-flexible metallic finish that adds to the corrosion protection

Applying the WELD #2 COPPER or WELD #2 ZINC:

  • Clean and degrease the surface thoroughly with a good quality spirit wipe or thinner
  • Abrade the surface, wet or dry, with 280-320 abrasive, clean again, dry, and degrease
  • Shake the can well for at least 2 minutes
  • Apply 1-2 light coats, evenly, allowing 5-10 minutes between each coat
  • Provide 10-20 minutes before your begin welding
  • The primers should be flatted wet with 600-800 grit or dry with 400-600 grit abrasive
  • Can be over-painted with most paint systems available in the market
